A beautifully designed room is one that does not feel overly designed or staged. Instead, it feels as though it has been built gradually over time, eventually becoming a reflection of the person who lives in it. When building a room, I like to collect objects and textiles from my travels. I incorporate pieces that might be hand-me-downs, but have meaning and memories associated with them. And I include artwork that simply speaks to me. Aboubakar Fofana’s stunning Organic Indigo piece did just this, and acted as focal point in this curated bedside vignette.
