Hand carved by artisans in Java, Indonesia, this serving bowl has been sculpted from tree root. The rich availability of reclaimed wood in Indonesia has led to a long history of woodcarving _ one that developed with the creation of traditional religious icons and carved ritual masks. Recognized for its unique and organic shape, this Indonesian tree root bowl exemplifies contemporary woodcarving practices in Java.
