Provenance

The Iris Cactus Silk Throw Pillow is made from fabric inspired by our vintage Cactus Silk textiles, created by Berber people, indigenous to North Africa. Berber textiles can be identified by region and tribe, detailed with stripes and symbols. The small symbols seen here mimic traditional tattoos that adorn Berber women. The Star Muong Throw Pillow is made from fabric inspired by a vintage Muong textile. The only surviving descendants of the early Vietnamese, the Muong have maintained their traditional way of life in the mountains of northern Vietnam. The harmonious patterns are colored by natural indigo dyes. The Golden Maze Kuba Cloth Throw Pillow is made from fabric that is inspired by Kuba cloth, a unique textile featuring complex designs that are created when various geometric raffia pieces are stitched to a plain raffia background. The resulting rough surface is punctuated by repeated geometric patterns with unexpected interruptions in design.
