Provenance
This archival print is a replica of a vintage textile created in Uzbekistan. Handmade in the traditional suzani technique, the Central Asian textile is embroidered with a tambour hook and characterized by its floral pattern and meandering vines. The flowers seen here are symbolic of fertility and fruitfulness, and the decorative embroidery is also thought to possess a protective element. These textiles are traditionally used as wall hangings or as a woman's marriage dowry.
