Provenance
This St. Frank textile was created by Berber people, indigenous to North Africa. Berber textiles can be identified by region and tribe, detailed with stripes and symbols. The small symbols seen here mimic traditional tattoos that adorn Berber women. The symbols have many meanings, such as longevity, fertility, protection against the evil eye, cures for illnesses, tribal association, and marital status. This textile is woven with silk made from the Sabra Cactus.
The woven textile is carefully applied to a linen substrate, which provides a border between the textile and frame. This piece is offered in our lucite frame. Our signature gold St. Frank plate is featured in the bottom right-hand corner of each piece.
Framed textiles are custom framed once they are ordered. Allow 4-5 weeks for framing and delivery. Expedited options may be available by emailing service@stfrank.com.
This item is fully refundable if returned within 30 days of delivery.
