The textile is carefully applied to a flax linen substrate, which provides a border between the textile and frame. This piece is available in our lucite frame. Our signature gold St. Frank plate is featured in the bottom right-hand corner of each piece.

All orders placed after 2 PM PT will be processed on the next business day.

Provenance

This St. Frank vintage piece was created in Uzbekistan and consists of dense silk embroidery on a cotton-silk blend backing, not visible through the elaborate stitching. Suzani embroidery, which is made with a tambour hook, is a classic Central Asian textile. The design portrays a majestic male elephant with husks, elaborately decorated. This particular piece is double sided with an opening at the elephant's feet, as the piece was previously used as a decorative teakettle covering.
