Handira II Statement Framed Textile
The textile is carefully applied to a flax linen substrate, which provides a border between the textile and frame. This product is available in our lucite frame. A miniature version of our signature gold St. Frank plate is featured in the bottom right-hand corner of the piece.
Surface gloss can be maintained by using a soft cloth and specialty plastic cleaner or polish, following cleaning fluid container instructions.
Begin by gently blowing away any loose dust or dirt from the lucite surface. Using a mild soap solution or a plastic cleaner and a non-abrasive lint-free cloth, wipe the surface using light pressure. To remove grease, oil, or tar deposits use hexane or kerosene followed by a soap solution.
Fine scratches may be removed by hand polishing with a plastic polish scratch remover. Remove all residue and polish with a soft cloth.
All orders placed after 2 PM PT will be processed on the next business day.
Handira are woven in natural undyed wool, decorated with stripes and fringe, and finished with metal sequins. This St. Frank textile was created by a bride, her mother, and female relatives in preparation for the wedding, providing a special time for the bride to be educated about marriage. The handira was worn by the bride as a decorative cape during the wedding ceremony and then turned over and used as a rug on the floor of her home after the wedding.
Framed dimensions are 26.75" W x 22.75" H.
