Miao IV Accent Framed Textile
Dimensions: 28" W x 30.5" H
The woven textile is carefully applied to a linen substrate, which provides a border between the textile and frame. This piece is offered in our lucite frame. Our signature gold St. Frank plate is featured in the bottom right-hand corner of each piece.
Polishing
Surface gloss can be maintained by using a soft cloth and specialty plastic cleaner or polish, following cleaning fluid container instructions.
Cleaning
Begin by gently blowing away any loose dust or dirt from the lucite surface. Using a mild soap solution or a plastic cleaner and a non-abrasive lint-free cloth, wipe the surface using light pressure. To remove grease, oil, or tar deposits use hexane or kerosene followed by a soap solution.
Removing Scratches
Fine scratches may be removed by hand polishing with a plastic polish scratch remover. Remove all residue and polish with a soft cloth.

Provenance
The Miao are an ethnic minority group from the mountainous provenances of southern China. This textile is made from a vintage Miao wedding blanket. These wedding blankets were woven in cotton and silk by the bride and her family as a gift to the groom and his family. The brocades feature elaborate geometric motifs that require a high level of skill. Within Miao families, weaving is taught from mother to daughter. Once the daughter masters this complex craft, she is considered ready for marriage.
