This surfboard brings together the quality of legendary shaper Gary Linden of Linden Surfboards and our iconic pattern. Gary Linden has been a surfer for over 50 years and has been shaping boards for almost as long. He is a founder of the Big Wave Tour and is the oldest active big wave surfer today. This collaboration combines the highest standards of a functional surfboard with artistic expression that can live on the water or your walls.
This surfboard has a digitally printed fiberglass inlay inspired by archival mud cloth textiles from Mali. Mud cloth, or bògòlanfini in Bambara, is a traditional West African textile. As the name suggests, it is created with fermented mud to produce pigment for dye. The geometric patterns represent animals or other objects from the natural world. Mud cloth was traditionally worn by hunters, offering camouflage, ritual protection, and status. More recently, mud cloth has become a symbol of Malian cultural identity and has been exported as an iconic international textile used in fashion, home design, and fine art.
